The joy of reading Laurence McPartlin’s poems is to become a companion, a fellow traveller on that wayward pathway from youth to maturity and beyond. It is not a solemn walk, but one of curiosity, deriving joy and understanding from every blade of grass, from the mountainous Kirkstone Pass in Cumbria, the tumbling streams of Dalton Beck to the spaces and majesty of Spain and its never-ending skies. Laurence McPartlin was born in Hartlepool; after leaving school he worked in the local steelworks, before venturing to a new career at a hotel at Lochinver, Scotland. His travels then took him south to work in hotel management in Harrogate, before finally putting his roots down in the leafy South Hams, Devon, United Kingdom. He enjoys playing the guitar, song writing and sketching.“You are all welcome to….Come dance with meOn a pale white shoreTo the sound of the crazy seaWhere wild winds take your breath awayAnd set your spirit free….”You can find out more about Laurence at Collingwood Publishing and Media Ltd www.johnsimes.co.uk or contact him at: macduck52@icloud.com
